Essentially French is a wonderful way to experience a taste of Provence. Our hosts, Susan and Brendan, went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their gorgeous historic home. As their guests we saw beautiful small villages and lovely countryside. Their local knowledge enabled us to discover vineyards, villages and natural sights. Highly recommend for a very easy, comfortable way for English speaking travellers to enjoy this beautiful part of France.

“Perfect from Start to Finish.”
Our 5-night, 6-day stay with Essentially French in Provence was an absolute delight. Our accommodation was full of character and had everything we could possibly need. Susan and Brendan, our wonderful hosts, ensured every detail was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. We had plenty of time to enjoy each location and relax in our spacious suite when we chose to. We loved the variety of places we went and cafes and restaurants were divine. The picnic with a view was breathtaking! Our group was amazing and we have now made life long friends! We couldn’t recommend our trip enough and hope to return again in the future.

We had the opportunity to stay at the elegant, historical and beautiful Fenton Maison in Mazan. The history of the home was fascinating. The whole home has been thoughtfully renovated with each bedroom individually decorated in the French provincial style. We loved our bedroom with the 4 poster bed with a window looking straight at the church stain glass next door. I will always remember the roast chicken dinner in the charming alfresco dining area and having cups of tea in the gorgeous rustic courtyard looking up at the church towers. We enjoyed exploring the village of Mazan and felt we got to experience a slice of provincial life. We loved all the places we were taken to - from river side village with the best shops, to peaceful abbey, picturesque hilltop villages, roman amphitheater and generally seeing the lovely French countryside. The pacing of the visits were great and Brendan's driving was excellent, navigating the small roads and being able to find carparks. We are were very happy to have experienced Mazan and the hospitality of the Fenton’s and would love to visit again.

Our small group experience of Provence was an unforgettable experience. Staying in a genuine 13th Century French home was an amazing experience and the hosts, Susan and Brendan’s attention to detail was impeccable. Their guidance through hidden villages and cobbled streets was fascinating and the food, cafe’s and restaurants a culinary delight!. Not having to worry about anything whatsoever was absolute bliss and stress-free. This experience was the highlight of our year, and we look forward to returning again.
