End of 2025 Reflections

As 2025 comes to a close, I keep finding myself thinking back to May, September and October, and to the people who walked through our old front door in Mazan and so quickly felt like friends.

Wonderful day discovering Avignon

Each group brought their own energy, stories and sense of humour, and yet there was a beautiful thread that ran through every stay. The easy conversation, the shared excitement of a market morning. The way people slowed down almost without noticing, once they realised they could unpack once and simply enjoy.

We spent our days exploring the villages we love most, those perched little places that seem to glow in the late afternoon light. We wandered cobbled lanes, admired shutters and stonework, hunted for treasures at brocantes, and paused often, because there is always something worth noticing in Provence.

Seeing beautiful villages without the crowds

And then there was the landscape, which never sits still. One day it’s vineyards and soft light. Another it’s big skies and rugged hills. We picnicked up in the mountains, breathing in that clear air that makes everything feel sharper and calmer at the same time. We visited wineries, lingered over tastings, and watched our guests discover favourite drops they will probably be thinking about for years.

Returning to our home, well, it’s the evenings that are so special….

Wonderful dinners at home in Mazan

Long lunches that turned into late afternoons. Dinners that stretched happily into the night. The clink of glasses, the serving platters passed around the table, the laughter that builds when people feel comfortable and cared for. Sharing our home, our table, our little routines, and seeing our guests settle in as though they have always belonged there, that is what makes these stays so special for us.

Our lovely solo ladies group

Friendships formed in 2025 that genuinely moved me. It happened around the table, in the car between villages, over an apéritif in the salon, and in those quiet moments when someone realises they have found their people, even if only for a week. Watching those connections take shape is a real privilege.

Unpack once and feel completely at home

As we look ahead, we are so excited to do it all again when we return in April 2026. Next year is shaping up to be a sell out season, and we’re already dreaming about everything that’s waiting for us in Provence, the light, the markets, the village mornings, and all those shared meals.

To every guest who joined us in May, September and October, thank you. Thank you for choosing to spend your precious time with us, for bringing your warmth to our home, and for trusting us to take care of the details so you could simply enjoy. We’re grateful for each and every one of you, and we truly hope our paths cross again one day, here in Mazan, or somewhere else in this beautiful world.

With heartfelt thanks,
Susan and Brendan
